Thanks guys. I haven't even opened the bag of parts yet to examine the kit but, from what I have read about this kit it's an older issue. dazdot, I assume you are referring to the raised panel lines that it's supposed to have? I'll be honest here; I don't know if I want to go to the extreme of sanding down the entire plane and rescribe all the panel lines. I am not that confident that I could pull it off without screwing it up.

John, You were probably smart to get rid of the kit and detail kit. I started today by cutting out the main PE panels for the cockpit side walls, rear armor plate and the instrument panel and was trying to make sense of how it all is supposed to fit in place. The side wall pieces seem to be a bit short when placed on the fuselage if you go by the Verlinden drawings. I played around with them a bit and I kind of see what is going on but I'm going to have to mock up the cockpit and surrounding PE just to know exactly where they need to go before I place them and start building the cockpit around them. I think the upper rails should be placed more to the front but, I need to see exactly where the instrument panel sits before I commit to the placement. On the Verlinden drawing it shows the top rail filling the whole length of the canopy opening and there's not enough there to do that. I should have sprung for the Eduard kit.

It's been a while since I've been able to sit down and work on this one but, I decided to put some of my other projects aside for a bit and get this cockpit done with the resin and PE upgrades. Here are a few shots of the last couple of nights of getting the pieces in place so I can paint them and move on to assembling the plane itself. Too many projects and not enough time.

Getting there, lots of little bits and pieces. I almost forgot how to work in a smaller scale than the 1/8 scale Pocher cars I've been building lately.
