Vince1159
She's a beauty 5054,a real credit to your skills and the 'Blue Max' adds a bit more (have one next to Von Richthofens Dr-1)....
k5054nz
Thanks Vince! I have since also done a movie Fokker D.VII and am working on a "German" Tiger Moth:

Apparently it's quite nice to fly so TVAL uses it for training their pilots. But as a model it'd mean a lot more work. 'TIJ needs a four cylinder engine plus support struts between the fuselage and lower wing. Thanks for that. I don't know if you've had a close look at the Encore 1/32 kit but you can build either the movie version (using the resin parts) or the historical and literary version. Does G-ATIJ have that distinctive pointing upwards exhaust or does it have a more accurate pointing downwards exhaust? I can't seem to tell from the photo. Is G-ATIJ a lot more accurate to the original machines than TIJ or only a bit? P.S. (Love your DVII replica too) Edited February 11, 2017 by SeaVenom
k5054nz
Thanks! G-ATIJ - Hillbourne/Bellamy - is a LOT more accurate. G-ATIF is the other one (not sure if I got that right earlier). You can just make out the exhaust in my first photo of the real one - mounted to port, slanting up then horizontal. This photo shows it even better. I remember reading the Encore kit had a four-cylinder engine.
SeaVenom
Cheers for that! It looks like they've both got similar exhausts. I've been trying to find a photo of the 2 replicas side by side but have had no luck so far.
