DonQuixote
Hello everyone, I'm a complete newbie with Britmodeller and at modelling, making a return to modelling after a gap of nearly 60 years! I thought I might try and bridge at least my knowledge shortfall (the skills will hopefully come with practice) by having for reference a book or two on such subjects as Aircraft modelling tips and techniques and even those on airbrushing and finishing. Among the myriad of books out there, with your help I'm hoping to find one or two good ones! Has anyone any recommendations, please? With many thanks and kind regards, Patrick. batcode
Osprey publishing do some good modeliing books, there are a couple ideal for picking up the basics and returning back into things. Also airfix collaberated with i think it was key publishing and they did bring out 2magizines/books on modeling that cover all sorts from paint all through to scratch building hope this helps
Sidders
Hi Patrick, A member of Britmodeller, Mark Stanton (username Mark ex Busdriver) published a book a few years ago. Link here:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scale-Aircraft-Modelling-Mark-Stanton/dp/1861264453/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436216291&sr=8-2&keywords=mark+stanton It's an excellent book and I cannot recommend it highly enough. erewhon1872
Hi Patrick, I got this book a couple of years ago at Telford http://www.euromodelismo.com/shop1/en/books-english/315-guia-maxima-tecnicas-de-modelismo-de-aviacion.html excellent step by step builds of all kinds of aviation subjects from WW1 biplanes to modern jets. The same company has now started to do a series of books on specific subjects starting with detailing cockpits http://www.euromodelismo.com/shop1/en/books-english/575-encyclopedia-of-aircraft-modelling-techniques-vol1-cockpits-english.html very good books. Hope this helps, Pete
