Why a 6238356273682315th Bf 109 (G) ? And S.199 ?
Both were just published by KP and F shall also come.
Why no early 109 ? Like A/B/C/D if a 109 is wanted ?

They need best-seller mainstream kit for cash-flow.

These types are needed for funding other projects like MiG-15 UTI or Czechoslovak pride Avia B.534.

AZ Model (KP) Bf 109 are very good, maybe best short-run kits. But sorry, Eduard would made top Tamiya-like quality mould.

It would be good to see Eduard tackle the jumo engined early 109s as well as the mainstream ones. Lets hope they don't make the engineering of the kits too complicated that it compromises the build quality.

Maybe because we need some good scale models of these , not Frankenplanes made by mixing different brands.

There aren't any good 109F-Gs (0 to 14) for the moment except for the very nice ZVEZDA 109F and FINE MOLDS F-G-K series models...if you can grab them !( for the Fine Molds !)

Even the Fine Molds , Zvezda and the late KPM G-10 and AS seem to have their own shortcomings but who hasn't ?

So keep on hoping for the "definite Bf 109F-G-K series " new tools by a main brand like Eduard or Tamiya.

As the Eduard 109G-6 saga seems now to belong to the past , let's hope for the best.

Just my 2 cents

Madcop :bye:

A small look back at the preparation of the Bf 109G-2/G-4 kit in 1/72nd scale, which will be released in November 2023 under catalogue number 2143 in the Limited edition as Dual Combo. This is the first time since the late 1970s that this 1/72nd scale version of the Gustav has been marketed as a kit from a metal mould.

Looks nice, but why do Eduard keep on moulding pitot probes as part of the wing?

Like any manufacturer, Eduard has to decide whether to give it together or separately. For some modellers it makes building more enjoyable, for others the opposite. There is no good solution here, there will always be some modellers who are not satisfied.

Actually, there is a good solution. Eduard gives you both choices. They give you a pitot tube molded on the wing top and two replacements as separate parts. They also give you two extra aileron mass balances, two extra clear wingtip lights and an extra clear gun sight. All of which will placate the carpet monsters.

Eduard has released a set of 1/72 3D printed balance weights, Eduard 672329 https://www.eduard.com/eduard/brassin/aircraft/1-72/bf-109-balance-weights-print-1-72.html

Yesterday I lost one of Ar 196's kit parts, I wonder if Bf 109 and Ar 196 balance weights are approximately the same shape and size. It's hard to tell from photos.
