BOBO Posted June 29, 2015 Share Posted June 29, 2015 One of the most colorful fighter squadron of German Luftwaffe was the "Jagdgeschwader 53".I have built some models from these with many work and effort. The color layout only decides in the end, even if the kit is very old or has lower quality.Some few months ago I was looking in my - actually from 23 volumes consisting (Die Deustche Jagdfliegerverbände" - and found in the part II (Sitzkrieg") "phoney war" an interesting template. It was a Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, yellow "1" of 3. / JG 53 from OLtn. Wolfgang Lippert. On 23 November 1941, OLtn. Lippert baling out of his stricken aircraft, he broke both his legs when he struck the vertical stabiliser. He was captured and taken to a hospital. He died from an embolism after the operation without regaining consciousness.
