goon
Hi all, I, clumsily, have a small amount of over spray on the inside of my Spitfire windshield. The plastic has been dipped in Klear. It's not glaringly visible, but I'd like to remove it. What should I use that won't attack the Klear? I've a few ideas but don't want to make it worse when I could live with it as it is. Thanks, Gareth
spruecutter96
Hi, Gareth. I'm assuming that the canopy has not been glued on to the aircraft... Probably your easiest option is to dip the wind-shield in some new Klear for an hour (which will then dissolve the old stuff). Failing that, I believe that Isopropal Alcohol (IPA) is able to remove dried Klear (would be best to check this one out on something that doesn't matter first, though!). Failing both of these options, Laquer Thinners will strip just about anything off (it is VERY strong stuff). Hope this helps. Chris.
goon
Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply. The windshield is fitted, so I need something to attack the paint but not the Klear. I didn't think to try a toothpick whittled to a chisel edge, so I'll try that first. Cheers, Gareth
