Acrylic paints to spray Vietnam aircraft colours

bootneck

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of 1:144 aircraft that I would like to paint in Vietnam colours. I would like to know what the colours are for camouflaged F-4E Phantom and a C-47 Skytrain, are they the same colours?

I normally use and like Vallejo Air but I need help with identifying the bottle numbers to get for the Vietnam cam of tans and greens.

I am also interested to hear If there is a better acrylic paint, which can be easily obtained in UK and, if so, who supplies them.

And finally, any recommendations on who retails acrylic paints, such as Vallejo etc. at the most economic prices?

Thanks for any assistance with this

Mike

Personally I really like Gunze Mr Hobby paints - for a SEAC scheme you want

Gunze H311,H309,H310,H303

As an indication the Hun I finished recently was those paints

Can be thinned with Tamiya X20A, UMP Ultimate thinner, Mr Hobby thinners or Isopropyl alcohol - for best results use Mr Levelling Thinners ( though that is smelly - not a problem for me in a shed ).

As to getting hold of the Gunze paints there are a few places - Scalemodelshop is where I normally get mine from as John gives great service and has a nice loyalty scheme.
