Jonny
It's good to know that Airfix is inviting us to remember that the "6th May 2015 marks the 71st Anniversary of the landing operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II, also known as Operation Neptune". . Their words, not mine, in an email that arrived in my Inbox at 10:08 today (6 June). Strange thing is - I was always led to believe that the Normandy landings occurred on the 6 June 1944, and that the overall operation was 'Overlord'. Much as I appreciate Airfix's attempts to acknowledge the D-Day landings, I do wish that someone in the company had taken the trouble to check what was in their email! This might not be the right forum to point this out but I don't think there is another one more appropriate. Rant mode OFF ...

CharlieNZ
Well ok, the month was clearly a typo, but the rest is correct. The seaborne landings were part of operation Neptune. Edited June 7, 2015 by CharlieNZ
