alex_stela
Here`s another model from my Falklands collection - Argentine Super Etendard in 1/72. Made from old Academy`s kit. Eduard`s PE set was used. Some modifications have been made: nose is a little longer and has a bigger angle, Exocet`s pylon is taken from Heller`s kit, ladder and the electronic pod under the fusselage were self-made, flaps were cut off etc. Decals are mix of Academy, DP Casper and Xtradecal sets. It`s my interpretation of Super Etendard number 3-A-202 before Exocet attack, May 1982. alex_stela
Thank you, guys! the actual aircraft is STILL in service I believe.. As I know it`s in Naval Aviation Museum in Bahia Blanca now, but actually - it served a long time in Argentine Navy! Lovely job, was this the bird that sank the Sheffield? Nobody knows, because Etendards always attacked in groups of 3. But actually this aircraft took part in both successfully Exocet attacks, when HMS Sheffield and Atlantic Conveyor were sunk, so it`s possible. alex_stela
They always operated in pairs, not groups of three. Of course, my mistake! Thanks for your attention! Another mistake - Etendard that took part in both attacks was 3-A-203 - it sunk "Sheffield" in pair with 3-A-202 and "Atlantic Conveyor" in pair with 3-A-204.
