One-Two
Of course, nothing is so simple as it looks. I run into some problems while masking various parts for the final clear cote. The yellow areas received a gloss coat, the grey ones a semi-gloss coat and the black ones a flat cleat coat. While removing the masks for the anti-glare flat coat, I managed to damage the upper part of the tactical number from the right side. So again some masking was done in order to repair the damage with white paint...

One-Two
Engine cowling installed also. Because I thinned so much the trailing edge of the cowling, it was a little bit difficult to put it in the right position, since there is no more direct contact between the cowling and the fuselage. So I was forced to glue the cowling directly to the engine - I just put some white glue on the top of each cylinder and then put the cowling on. This left me enough time for trimming the right position and with a pretty solid bond after the white glue had dried. Also I have some sort of dilemma regarding the top of the engine cowling. More precisely, should I leave it as it is, or should I paint it black, like the rest of the anti-glare area on the nose? I saw both variants for Guantanamo birds...and I'm lazy...so I might just leave it as it is:) It seems now that I'm on short final with the Texan...hope that pretty soon it will be on RFI. Thanks for looking and regards, Edited October 19, 2017 by One-Two
One-Two
Finally finished this one. Although it took me such a long time to finish it, it was a nice and rewarding build. Thank you so much Gents for your time and for your kind words. Hope you like it. RFI here:
John Masters
Wow! What an adventure! I only hope my Texan is half as good as this one...
