Ray S
Hello all. I have recently had a great shopping experience when I was after a display case for a ship I have just finished. Chewitt (Chris) had given me a lead in one of his posts, but I would like to let others know about these people. The website is www.inperspextive.com - for some reason I cannot post a link despite using Chrome and having managed in the past. They do quite a range of case sizes, but I needed something bespoke. My contact (Paul) said it was no problem and that if I gave the measurements, he would get one made to my specifications. I settled up the payment on the 24th April 2015, and the item was delivered safe and sound on the 1st May 2015. Paul kept me updated at all times. I can highly recommend them from my one experience, and I know that many of us building ships could really do with something to put them in! I have no affiliation other than being a very satisfied customer, and I hope you don't mind me letting you know about them. All the best, Ray

ShipbuilderMN
I build my own from 3mm clear acrylic. It takes about an hour to veneer, cut and assemble the base quadrant. Then the next day, about 40 minutes to cut the four sides and top. I put the sides in first and then cut the inner base to fit it. The inner base is edged with splayed wood beading, working through the open top. Then the top is put on. The day after, it takes about an hour to edge the corners with veneer. Finally, I French polish the woodwork. I cut the acrylic with a small hobby bandsaw. Bob
