gregg136
I have a sneaking suspicion there's going to be a few of these, but here's the start of mine (eek) it's also my first WIP that I intend to finish.I'll forgo the usual sprue shots and instead point you all to this thread. The intention is to do it in the flight test scheme even though I swore off orange paint after the Belgian F-16. First up the seats both before and after: Once the paints dried fully I need to touch up a few areas then give it some weathering. Thanks for looking....... until next time

Mozzy19
Nice choice, I didn't realise this kit would be so popular! Sean
The 3rd Placer
It (the kit) does need a nose job though. The nose from Sierra Hotel is very nice and fits perfectly. Ryan
gregg136
Tub all closed up, I decided not to use the decals for the panels since the detail on them is so good a dry brush was used. Fit issue between the bulk of the nose and the lower section with the nose bay will need some filling. Also got the bulk of the fuselage together. Since this is just a scaled up version of their 1:72 I know where the trouble will lie. SWMBO isn't best pleased with the size of her now. She's in for a shock when I finally get the He.111 in the same scale started.
gregg136
So, where were we. Over the last 2 days I've gotten the main sections of the nose built, the main part of the wings is together as is the fuselage. Absolutely no issues with any of those although It could have done with something else in the fuselage to keep the thing in shape and just to beef up the connections between the sides and the wings. Now I have an issue, I don't have planning permission to build a hanger to keep this beast in. As you can see there's going to be some sanding and a bit of filling around the joint for the forward of the aircraft. And that gap underneath.
Mozzy19
Looking good! That gap looks like it could rival the Grand Canyon! Sean
gregg136
At this scale it possibly could.
gregg136
Time for another update, quite a lot of progress made today, the huge gaps have been filled in and just need sanding (pics tomorrow) but I now have all the main components together and she's standing on her own 3 legs. gregg136
It'll be unnoticeable once the black is on, I hope.
