beefy66
OK so after finishing my Z 25 build and still looking for info on my Vosper build I was getting a bit restless to build some thing so when at the Scottish Nationals in Perth at the weekend just gone decided to buy this and just do an OOB build to get some practice in. So Started building it there and then at the display table on the Saturday afternoon Hull and deck fitted upper fittings done and test fitted No major fit issues with this so far and the detail is nice for 1/48 scale Beefy
JimHead23
I've never seen one of these kits before. Did Merit do a range of boats in this scale do you know?
Fatboydim
Good start Beefy. I'll keep an eye on this one if you don't mind. Joe

What meant was I hope they do other boats such as a Vosper, BPBco, or even, one can hope, a Fairmile.
Gremlin56
Nice one Keith, be following your build. I am patiently waiting for Merit's 1/35th Russian G-5 MTB. Just about the Holy Grail of MTB's IMHO and supposed to be released this year.
beefy66
Small update been working on the aft gun 20 mm Orlikon some nice little detail bits in this kit you get the gun sight and the wing nuts for the torpedo tube hatches. But no gun shield maybe Merit will do an accessory kit like Italeri were you can build different versions of this type of boat. Beefy

beefy66
Well some more of the smaller deck fittings done and the hull primed with red that will be the anti fouling color and I have also roughly painted the inside of the bridge and cabin to add the windows. beefy66
Little more work done this time the twin 50 cals These even have small strips of amo belts nice detail as well for 48th scale Beefy
Gremlin56
Nice progress Keith, looks good. I'd check the alinement of the 50 cals, they don't seem to have the barrels parallel but that could be the photo angle.
beefy66
Your quite right Julian just a small bit out but can sort that out when mounted on to the tub so as not to move it to much until it is all in place on the deck I have a habbit of moving stuff to much and that is when it breaks Keith

beefy66
Well not much painting done but plenty of cursing and looking for small wing nuts I have been adding the wheelhouse and cabin to the main deck and also trying to add 8 wing nuts to each of the torpedo hatches I have an apparent lack of control with tweezers trying to fit these little b#* ers and only have way there and had to rest to let the air clear Well only another 16 to fit if I do not loose any of them or my mind first beefy
