Dragon 1/72 -- Post-war italian P-38J

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I felt i needed something different from all these Pudgys' that are on almost every decal sheet... :sleep_1:

So, here is my post-war italian P-38J. :yahoo:

Repacked Dragon in an Italeri box and decals from Carpena/Colorado.

Still waiting for my book "Lockheed P-38 Lightning in Italian Service 1943-1955" though....

welcome aboard, good to see members still joining in.

The Dragon model is a nice P-38 and it will look nice and a bit different in Post-war Italian markings.

Hope you enjoy the build, it'll be a interesting one to follow, good luck

My book has arrived. :hobbyhorse:

Then I remembered the P-38 that landed on the wrong field in Italy.

I have an old Airfix that I bought many years ago just to make a nostalgy build. I got bored of it and sold it just to get it back a year later.

Donated it in a raffle just to win it back again...

i guess I have to build it. I don't seem to be able to get rid of it....

So, in the background there will be an old rivety monster too.

Special edition box, again with that "Pugdy".

I've started the cockpits

Airfix top, no steering column and the steering wheel molded into the instrument panel!

Dragon has all you need expect seat belts.

Both built together here

oooo the old Airfix beasty!!! I remember my father was so excited when that one came out as it had so much detail.....well the other one he had built was the old Frog one!!

Two builds at once, nice! And I like the colour schemes. It will be very interesting seeing the two builds going on together.

Old Airfix kits, the gift that keeps on giving! :D
