ShipbuilderMN
I built this one afternoon when I had nothing better to do. The Confederate ironclad Tuscaloosa, but I never got round to putting it in a river or display case. I seldom build warships! Bob
gruffy
Very nice! I do like how this and the Union monitor were different to every thing else in the world in this time.
Darby
Very esoteric and a lot less rigging that some of your builds.
jean
Did you scratch built it? Whatever, it does look rather appealing. By the way, I have the same pen in my stash! Will get around to build it some day! Very nice Ironclad JR
ShipbuilderMN
Yes, it is scratchbuilt, I never could cope with kits! I got the plan from a small book on Civil War ironclads. It is made mainly of lined styrene plastic sheet (Evergreen). The deck is scored 1/64th marine plywood. The funnel is a piece of brass tube. The funnel stays and flagpoles are copper wire. The flag was made on the computer, and printed on airmail paper. Bob
