Sad day today as the mortal remains of the sole C-130 W2 Hercules XV208 were unceremoniously chopped up at Cambridge. She was last used as a flying test bed for the A400M,but has been rotting slowly at Cambridge for a couple of years now. :weep:

What a shame,.....I used to see Snoopy regularly during the 1980`s both at Farnborough and at Lyneham and was always fascinated by her. I hope that her barbers pole nose was preserved when it was removed earlier and will appear in the Farnborough Museum?

Cheers

Tony

I don't know Snoopy, but I really hate it when they scrap aircraft like this. Makes you wish there was a museum on every corner that could take them all in.

Cheers,

Bill

The probe was indeed fitted during the A400 trials but it was used as an instrument probe instead of a fuel one.I think the nose is going to be used as a trial instalation mock up facillity.
