1/35 Saint Chamond "Teddy"

Recommended Posts

Bonjour! ;^)

I'm back to armor modeling after a two year break.

It is the Takom first release with the Blastmodel crew figures and packs.

The other figure is from Deskit and the pets are from reality in scale.

Painted with gunze using the bluetac technique.

Chipping with Prince August acrylics, weathering with natural earth and pigments, oils...

Romain.

Fantastic piece of work

You have not lost your skills in your two year break
The weathering of the colours and weathering in general is first class.

The cats around where I live are as big as yours :fight:

Good job

Cheers

thank you guys!

Yes, the exhausts pipe deserve more flat varnish. I'll correct that point.

As for the cat, I fear I can't slim him down ^^

I guess this pets set is much more 1/32nd or 45mm scale.

Bye!

That's one of the best St. Chamond's I've seen. The camo looks fantastic and the figures and cat and dog really bring it to life. It's one I've been thinking about building for a while but I'll wait and see what the forthcoming HobbyBoss version is like first

Fantastic bit of modelling! :)

The figures are very nicely done, and I like the weathering, especially the mud on the running gear :goodjob:

Hi,

As for the base, I used a wooden plate found in an Arts and crafts store.

I spread some spackle/sealer (the kind of stuff used for renovation works) using a wet big brush.

As the layer is still fresh, some gravels, sand and natural earth is sprinkled on it.

Drying is done quicker with hairdryer.

Then the whole base is primed with chaos black direct from the can.

After drying, the earth is painted with Gunze acrylics: earth brown/beige colors.

The variations are done with different shade of pigments, applied wet or dry with a brush.

et voilà!

hope it helps!

Hi Romain,

not every day one sees a St Chamond! I think I saw one build a few centuries ago in the mPm magazine... Great vintage!

The whole dio is superb and your figurine painting ability quite impressive!

There is nothing wrong feeding steroid to pets, especially in times of armed conflicts, when pet food is scarce!!!

Congrats
