This is the 1/48th scale Tamiya P47-D Thunderbolt Razorback.

The model was painted with Aeromaster acrylics with the exception of the canopy frame, which was painted with Xtracolor enamel. Artist gouache was used for weathering and to highlight the panel lines.

The seat belts are from Eduard. The decals are Eagle Strike set number 48054.

American Jabos.

The markings are for Yankee Tarheel. Flown by Lt. H. I. Price. 510 F.S. 405 F.G.

Thanks for looking, Joe

Very well done! I've always wondered, though, what (or who) started the tradition that nose art should appear on just the port side of the aircraft? I know there are some examples where it is on both sides, or just the starboard, but the overwhelming majority are just on the port side. Interesting tradition.

Cheers,

Bill

Thank you Ronan71, and thank you sdk_uk. :)

Great work Joe and a superb finish you've achieved there. Best yet, from what you've posted here. I think I may need to add something to the stash!!

Cheers,

Roger

Thank you Roger, if your thinking of adding one to your stash, I don't think you will be disappointed, it's a great kit. Regards, Joe

Thank you Bill, I'm sorry, I don't know for sure the history of nose art. But I'm sure someone on this site does know. Cheers, Joe

A most interesting pin up poster! The blue canopy frames do give this Jug a definite cachet.

The build and the painting are both flawless, which does not hurt one little bit!!!

Congrats
