Beardie
Hi all, Does anyone else use the bottled Humbrol Clear gloss varnish? If so, is yours "clear" or does it tint slightly yellow? I hadn't noticed this with anything I have done up til now but recently I had to paint a White tail and rudder separately and the tail was sprayed with clear before the rudder was added and, when I put the rudder in place it was obvious that the clear had turned the tail a creamy colour. Once the Rudder was sprayed it matched up fine but it does seam that Humbrol clear is slightly brown tinted. Is this the same for the Future floor polish or would I be better moving to it when I want a pristine white? rom1
Hi, i t is known that Humbrol can turn to yellow. As for the Future, it can show yellowing too, if applied in too thick layer. Now, I use Microscale varnish (gloss, satin and flat) They are great. Romain

Tin_Bitz
The microscale gloss does it just dilute with water and airbrush on?
Beardie
Don't have it myself yet but on the microscale website it does say "water reducible" which I would take to mean that it can be thinned with water though not having got it yet I can't say that it's not already at a suitable thickness for spraying. rom1
Hi, Yess you can thin it with water with a drop of dish soap. It seems to work with Gunze acrylic thinner 400. But do not try with alcohol... it will turn into a gelly...
