ScarecrowJoe
Hey guys what you use to emulate the belts and pulleys in your models? Rubber bands? Im building a model in 1/20 scale with a Ford 302 V8. Would like to detail it as much as possible. Thanks!
Codger
For pulleys you can cut styrene discs or pie pan aluminum and build them up with styrene. Can use flat washers if you're lucky with size. For belts, I use medical tape. It has a nice subtle texture. I cut a strip twice as wide as the pulley groove, then fold in half and stick it to itself. Paint with a brownish black acrylic, wrap around the pulleys and cut to length. A drop of CA at the join at the lowest pulley. This is 1/8 scale but you can trim a smaller one for 1/20:

Gween Weeder
Dear Mr. Codger, Please refrain from posting pictures of real engines. This is a modelling site. Yours in verisimilitude, etc.
