Iron reactive paint

At first thought it sounds interesting but on reflection I am not sure it would be of any advantage, possibly disadvantage and isn't that cheap. Seems to me that it is easier and more controllable to simulate rust. There are "rust" based Iron oxide paints in most ranges (a lot of browns are made from different iron oxide containing pigments) that will give you rust exactly where you want it and will never change once applied whereas a paint that rusts will be difficult to control and I would imagine could quite possibly ruin a model given time and environmental factors.
