Revell 1/35 SPZ Puma

Recommended Posts

Started work on the SPz Puma. So far some of the smaller details done on the upper hull, tracks assembled, lower hull and suspension done, part of the turret done, rear mud flaps (rubber) done, side skirts done. All sprayed in automotive under coat grey at present.

Clearance to install tracks later over the upper track guides is fine. Just to be done prior to the side skirts being fitted.

I have built this kit up to the point of painting. Im wondering how to paint the gun barrel and the inside of its housing and fill the join on the outside of the box housing without messing up the inside with the finished barrel.. It wont insert later I think.

There is no way the barrel can be inserted once the box housing has been assembled.

I have now built and started painting the kit.

With regards to the gun barrel and its box housing, I noticed the the area where the barrel shows is only painted green. Therefore I pre-sprayed the box housing and barrel prior to assembly. Once assembled I touched up the areas where the joint is using the green on a paint brush.

The problem I have had with this vehicle is that the one track was a very loose fit and required some of the links to be removed.

WIP - 1/35 Revell SPz PUMA. Camo pattern now done, but still a few small details yet to be completed: ie - antenna. The blue is where the armoured windows are. Unfortunately at present this is the only blue I have in my paint selection and so it will be changed to a darker blue when I get some. Gloss clearcoat to be done, then decals installed, then the matt clearcoat.
