Graeme
Good looking model....and I've tried and tried to stop myself, but my inner pedant won't me get over it - it' s kerbside model, not curbside. Sorry Graeme

heloman1
Congratulations Christian, I've followed your build form early on and enjoyed the ride thank you. Stunning result and takes me back to the '80's at Kyalami when we had a couple of them race here. Colin
capri-schorsch
Many thanks, but i dont know what you mean with Kerbside? A curbside model is without an engine and more details. Maybe its a language problem? regards Christian
Graeme
Depending where you're from of course.... ?? Americans curb their enthusiasm , not kerb it...surely a kerb is a kerb everywhere, same as curb means to pull back or something...

What do they say - 'separated by a common language'? From Wiki: "A curb (US English), or kerb (British English), is the edge where a raised sidewalk, road median/central reservation, or road shoulder/hard shoulder meets an unraised pavement, street or other roadway." And have a look at what 'Model Cars' or 'Scale Auto Enthusiast' would call a model without an engine....!!

If it's on Wiki then of course it must be correct - I mean no-one ever posts rubbish on there do they? Anyway its a great looking model and not fair to use this thread to discuss pedantry. Out. And yes, of course there's rubbish on Wiki, but there's also stuff that's correct too - such as our American friends calling a kerb a curb... My final word in support of Christian's use of the word curbside, is this from the American model car magazine 'Scale Auto Enthusiast' forum, in response to a question 'What is a curbside'; "A curbside is a model that looks like it would setting on the street. You would not see the engine or chassie ." Spot the number of differences in the 'common language'...!! Just do a google search for 'curbside model' and see how many hits you get, most not on Wiki! Years of reading 'Model Cars' & SAE mags killed any pedantry I might once have had about the use of curb for kerb! I do agree about what a superb model it is though, said so before! Over & Out... capri-schorsch
Ok guys, its a model without too much engine detail and without a suspension. Call it Dave or Bob or Fritz..........dont matters. :banghead: Its a BMW m1 and thats all. Never mind. regards Christian
