Navy Bird
HI mates, I stumbled across this photo on an Internet site, which is quite dramatic. Typically, the web page gave no other information about it, other than "UK 1962." Anyone here have some more details? I hope the pilot survived, as it looks to be a low-level ejection. The chute is deploying, though. The gear is down, so I'm guessing it was either right after take-off, or right before landing. Cheers, Bill
Procopius
Happily, George Aird survived the ejection, but did break both legs when he fell through a greenhouse: http://fearoflanding.com/photography/the-story-behind-an-unbelievable-photograph/

Navy Bird
Thanks for the extra information, mates. Thank goodness he survived to fly another day (check out the Mosquito RS712 video from 1984 on the Fear of Landing site that Procopius linked).
