buzz
For BA modelers (including me) looking for something a little different. From April 1, 10 A320 aircraft (G–EUYO-Y) will be fitted with sharklets.A further 20 A320's (G–EUYA-N and 6 TBA) will be modified in 2018 and 2019. eng
You know, I don't like the 757's with winglets fitted, I think it ruins the clean lines of this jet, but going by the profile you've posted above it does suit the A320 family better. Looking forward to seeing sharklet equipped aircraft through Glasgow soon then. Eng
garryrussell
The more recent deliveries are the first to be retrofitted, but I'm surprised some of them didn't come with them already.

buzz
First ones now fitted. Not sure if they'd look better with the Union Flag on them. They're probably too slim for them to look right. Edited April 16, 2015 by buzz
tomprobert
Does anyone know if the London City based A318s will be fitted out, too? Tom
XV571
Does anyone know if the London City based A318s will be fitted out, too? 1 Tom Highly unlikely, sadly. Although they have been tested on an A318 I have heard that they won't be certified since the only A318s that will now be built are the A318CJ version and there won't be the benefits (compared to airline use) on an aircraft used for not much more than a couple of hundred flights a year. Additionally the BAW aircraft pre-date the Sharklet capable wing so would have to have the major wing strengthening package installed as well. It's also likely the steep approach certification for London City would be affected, making the project uneconomical taking all three factors into account. Of course if some rich Oil Sheik absolutely insists on having Sharklets on his toy and is prepared to pay the costs, it may become more feasible. As a taster for what might have been, here's the only A318 which was fitted with Sharklets, but subsequently returned to standard Wing Tips and Fences: http://xfw-spotter.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/a318-112sl-airbus-industrie-d-auaa-msn.html Jonathan
