GrahamS
Not sure if this should really be in Real Space or Sci-Fi. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-31711083 Can't help but think though, they'd be better spending the money on a new runway at Heathrow and/or Gatwick. But I’m looking forward to Space Traffic Control, janner-style … "Newquay Control to Tincan One, over." "Tincan One receiving, over." "Tincan One, cleared for landing, runway 30, dreckly, over." "Ah, Newquay Control … say again, over." "Tincan One, cleared for landing, runway 30, dreckly. Over." [pause] "Newquay Control, please confirm last transmission, over." "Oi said, Tincan One, cleared for landing, runway 30, dreckly. You got that, moi luvver, over?" "Newquay Control, is there a problem, over?" "Tincan One, no, there ent no problem, tis just Denzel’s gone out Trebelzue lookin for mushrooms an we ent too sure where e’s to. We’m gonna wait til e sends up a flare, then you’m clear for landin, see? Over." [pause] "Heathrow Control, this is Tincan One, requesting vector for emergency landing …"
Mattlow
Not sure if anyone's seen this..? One of (the?) main contender(s) for using this space port... It all looks so very plausible now.... Makes the shuttle look old.. which I suppose it is. Matt
GrahamS
I so, so want the Skylon project to succeed and I'd so, so like it to be based and produced here in the UK but even taking into account this governments meagre investment I can see it going to Europe or the U.S. Graham
pigsty
Something to stir into the mix ... I've just read on the Beeb that Newquay wants authorisation for drones to fly there, and the DoT is concerned about their ability to distinguish them from other traffic. What bliddy traffic? And what about that bliddy great sophisticated radar the MoD left behind?
foxy
Trouble is there's to much shouting and not enuff investment, how can you do a proper job without it. Newquay could do with some that's for sure. foxy
