It's one of the best locations I have been to as the sun is behind you for most of the day and there is non-stop action from the airlines as well as the Self Defence Forces. The only downside is that most pictures are side shots, but who's complaining! It is the new maritime patrol aircraft for the JMSDF, in a simliar role to the Nimrod. Remember them? They are based at Atsugi and the flight test centre at Gifu at the moment, a total of eight having been completed so far. Nimrod MR4? It looks like quite a small plane but that is deceiving as the cockpit window are about the size of a house window. The actual plane is quite a lot bigger than a 737. I was thinking that it looked like a baby DC-8! But I have never seen anything on this type before. Maybe we should buy some as a Nimrod replacement!!! Colin Now on a separate thread especially for you I was doing some hard drive backing up today and it told me that I have over 51000 aircraft photos. good job I delete a vast majority of the ones I take.
