So as mentioned in my 1A5DK thread I needed to build another Russian piece so here it is, another great kit from Trumpeter, really enjoy doing their Russian stuff, if you want to see what can be done with this one check out DADS203,s build superb, mine will as usual be out of the box except for a crew,

Moved on a bit with this one, the tracks are link and length and once I got the hang of them are a doddle, I normally like to paint the wheels and tyres before attaching them but due to the loose fit and the need to have them in situ meant I had to secure them before painting, I have now primed the running gear and lower hull ready for painting,

I like the way you assembled the tracks. The kit looks like it is good quality. Steve, is it a relatively fast build?

Thanks, this is easier than their T90 and the link and length tracks speed things up a lot, so it is generally easier and great quality.

A quick update, managed to get the lower hull painted weathered and assembled, so now I move on with the rest of the build,

the tracks can be made to fit very snug but I found the guide horns a tight fit between the wheel halves so some filing was required, the wash was still a little wet hence the shiny look,

Thanks.

Interesting that you use white primer. I generally use black or russian green Vallejo primer. Perhaps I'll use the grey primer by Vallejo on my next AFV . The merkava or 30B2.

Thanks, it is actually Tamiya fine grey primer, looks white in the pics. I always do a black pre-shade and then the main colours.

More progress on this one, very enjoyable build, just two interesting things that have arisen so far, first one of the brass frets is marked as D as well as one of the plastic runners, this caused a furrowed brow for a few seconds, secondly I arrived at step eight I think it was and it kindly showed fitting the un ditching log into it's cradles, unfortunately there was no step showing the assembly and fitting of the parts for the cradles! Lol, anyway easy enough to figure out,

That does seem to be a very nicely detailed kit and you seem to be doing a very fine job with it so far. I shall follow with interest.

More progress on my latest lump of plastic, photo's down to usual standard, the AA gun was very fiddly but worth the effort , next up a pre shade and then the main colour,

Thanks Dan, wont look as good as yours but should look ok when finished, found a few areas I could have done better but isn't that always the way.

Very Nice Steve, I have to admit I do like the Trumpy Russian Armour kits.

Dave

Thanks David, they are excellent kits, I have quite a few in my stash.
