Jinxman
The last day of our trip to Japan took us to Hyakuri - the weather was kind, and it was a nice way to finish. Hope you like the pics and thanks for looking in.

Rickpadwick1801
Nice job on the photos, I didn't know any F-4 Phantoms were still in active service. They are nice looking jets. Snitok1983
Sharp shots! Thank you for the very interesting jasdf photo trip! Each of your posts was like a fest! So what will be next?
LeVi Tophatter
Great, clear, sharp shots Jinxman. Thanks for sharing!!! Bit of a surprise to see a JASDF pilot wearing a USAF lightweight helmet (1st pic), never seen that before. Always stuff to learn...

Jinxman
Thanks for the kind comments, they are very much appreciated. Not many Phantoms left in operation anywhere now which was one of the main reasons for going to see them whilst they still operational. Next? Hog hunting at Spangdahlem perhaps - not sure how long they are there, Joint Warrior 1 hopefully, and the Tiger Meet in Konya for the start of the year - when some of the participation lists firm up we will be looking out for Sukhois and MIGs at shows in Europe. cheers..

More Japanese heavy metal inspiration thanks! I'm now going to take a look at how much flights to Japan are, would love to make a visit there. As for Sukhois & Migs, hoping to see some Polish Mig 29's at RIAT, oh and some Turkish Phantoms. Not sure if they're still flying are they? Jinxman
hi Martin, I can recommend a trip to Japan - never seen so many aircraft and movements. The Turkish AF still has quite a few Phantoms running - hopefully there will be a few to see at Konya, cheers
Red Dot
I have been following your threads with interest as I was in Japan at the same time as you guys. Our paths did not cross until the Iruma show when I noticed a few Dutchmen around. They could only be from 4Aviation! You certainly have excellent pictures to be proud of and I can say with certainty that you will go back. I got the bug in 2004 and that was my fourth visit as Japan is perfect for photography of planes. I will post some of mine and we might kindle some interest in JASDF models. super stuff Andy By the way, I forgot to ask if that is a target towing pod under the last T-4? Not seen anything like it before out there

Jinxman
hi Andy & Kev, Thanks for the comments - hats off to the 4Aviation guys - they organised a great trip, we had a good time and saw some nice aeroplanes as well. The chances of us bumping into each other at Iruma would have been small I think - I have never seen so many people packed into an airbase! You're right about the bug - we are talking about a re-visit spring 2016 - we shall see. The pod beneath the T-4? - don't think it is target towing, but then again not sure, maybe someone else knows
Latinbear
Stunning shots and thanks for sharing. I had the privilege of going to Japan twice in 2008 with Richard Cooper when he ran the Aviation Photo Club at what was then (and is sadly no more) Aircraft Illustrated. If anybody has had any thoughts about going to the country then I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Apart from being a fascinating place to visit the photo opportunities are exceptional across a wide variety of aircraft not least of all lovely, lovely Phantoms.
Red Dot
we are talking about a re-visit spring 2016 me too, do we need a chat off line as I organised it for a group of photographer friends last year?

Why not post some pictures? I have seen some from a friend who was on the same trip and they are excellent.
Latinbear
As pathetic as this sounds (and is) I need to work out how to do it. I have now opened a Photobucket account and uploaded some images but I now need to work out how to get them onto BM. Read the "How to do it" in FAQs but will need to have another play. Question is - once I've worked out how it's done - whether to put them in this post or a fresh post? They are over six years old so not relevant in the way that Jinxman's images are. Guidance welcome and appreciated.
Jinxman
hi Latinbear, Not sure how photobucket works as I use Flickr, so can't help you on that one. On Flickr I cut and paste the HTML link for each shot individually. I would start a new thread - the subject matter will be slightly different and more people will look at it as some or most will not revisit this post and would therefore miss your pics. Looking forward to seeing them once they are up, cheers

MikeW
The planes themselves would be interesting enough, but your photography really makes these special. I enjoyed them immensely. Cheers, Mike
