And here we are, first build of the year :) An ex-Matchbox kit, most of the missing details will be scratch built. Following is the current progress.

Pretty basic seats:

Turned into:

Repeat until... bored :)

That's all for now, will post more pictures as I make more progress.

Thanks Martin :)

Some more progress made on:

Pilot seats:

Propellers (minor touch-up is still needed and decals haven't been applied):

Painted interior (must admit that I wasn't able to find any good reference on interior, so it is "what if" :)). And I didn't bother much with gaps where wings are attached:

Grooved and painted main wheels:

Added pilot seat to floor layout:

And started working on instrument panel:

Now, I'll start working on central console, and after that, interior will be completed.

Regards.

That's a nice interior! Given what will be seen when the fuselage is buttoned up, I think it will more than cut the mustard.

Wow, what a cracking start. I have this kit in the stash and was wondering what to do with. I think you've given me an idea!!

Thanks for sharing the seatbelt article, I'll definitely be using that!!

Thanks to all of you for words of encouragement :) Yes, kit is quite basic, yet it offers a lot of room for scratchbuilding & improvement.

In the meantime I've started work on control columns:

After I complete cockpit interior, I'll focus on both engines (It'll require some putty, sanding and engraving, also exhaust and air intake on top will have to be scratch built):

Stay tuned ;)

I've used masking tape and a method, described here: http://www.ratomodeling.com/articles/belts/

Thanks for the link to that article. I had been just using painted masking tape, with silver painted tips for the buckles, but I will have to try Rato's technique. :thumbsup2:

I found your post while doing a Google search for the Do28D-2, which I am currently working on, in Royal Thai Police markings. I may now try to get a coupe more kits, in order to do a much nicer job.l

You're welcome ReccePhreak. Currently, Dornier is on shelf of doom. I had to take a break from all engraving & detailing, but will resume work in following weeks. Make sure you post yours in WIP section of forum :)

I do like the Do28 and were thwarted in trying to buy one recently.

The lack of cabin pix is disappointing as all I've found is stripped out para birds, and even then no full shots.

Not helped by Google throwing Do228 & 328 pix in to the mix despite being told not to.

Should I ever find one I may have to pinch a few notes... :)...although I may avoid the rescribing.

Hope you restart as it's good to see the rarely seen kits getting an airing.
