dad's lad
Very nicely done. One small thing, were the inner gear doors not fitted for a reason?

dad's lad
all the gear doors are in place. Very nice Mish http://s164.photobucket.com/user/ChairmanRed/media/Airfix%20Release%20Reviews/Airfix%20Curtis%20Hawk%20A01003/21-1.jpg.htmlOk I'll take your word for it. I thought p-40s had small inner doors that dropped down next to the u/c leg (parts 5b and 6b) and I didn't think that I could see them here but I was wrong. AnonymousDFB1
I'm told that the P-40E did have a large door and a smaller inner door as he had a different oleo leg. But the P-40B had just the one door covering the leg.

Shalako
These "birds" for some reason used to get dirty a lot (mud, oil leaks, etc)!!! Very nice weathering!!!
AnonymousDFB1
The AVG at the time depicted by my build were falling back from Burma to China following the loss of Rangoon. I would suspect that the AVG operated for any piece of land that could accommodate their aircraft be that a dusty strip to a airfield. It is also fairly safe to assume that cleaning an patching up paint work was no high on the priority list at the time. Where the aircraft I built and depicted was at the time I don't know other that it would appear to be in Kunming China in 1941 however I tried to reproduce the aircraft in this photo
