Building this kit straight out of the box, the spure is stamped 1976! but the plastic is crisp and well detailed.

It comes with 5 figures, bit 2 of them are for the North African Campaign. I will be making the European version

Box art is good

Thanks for the comments guys, finished the major parts of assembly, your right Phil, straight forward with a few fiddly bits. It amazes me the quality and typical Tamiya fit of such an old kit. just finished undercoating and starting to apply some green top coat.

The rope came with the kit, i think you are right it is a bit thick but i'm making it to gain experiance on paint finishes and weathering. I am also working on a MiniArt base for it to go on.

That should set if off nicely, MiniArt make some great bases

Progressing nicely, transfer applied and dulled down, next i plan to start some genlte weathering. The 3 figures are nearly finished and i have started the base.

Aye up Paul.

That's looking very good. The figures are nicely done and the base will set it all off very nicely.

I did one of these last year for the D:Day GB but stalled on the weathering. Looking at yours makes me want to get it out and finish it!

Tamiya kits from the 70's still look the part. Look forward to seeing more of this.

Regards,

Steve

nice work - i am tempted to get a base for my M5A1 - was thinking one of the miniart park/street ones - or perhaps scale in resin (think thats what they are called) and add some tankers.... watching your build for tips & tricks
