JackG
Light tank Mk VI taken over by Italians in North Africa. I backdated the vehicle to what appears to me, as the earliest type. AM parts are listed in the tags above, but also scratch built the commanders copula, map board, the arm holding up the driver's visor plate, and added some wires for the smoke grenade launchers and headlights. I usually like to include some actual information to put the build in historical context, but other than the two period photos, could find nothing about these captured vehicles. This one in particular seems to have no severe battle damage. My best guess is the original owners abandoned it either due to mechanical problems or it got stuck in soft sand. Anyhow, the rest of the photos ... regards, Jack Edited January 30, 2015 by JackG

IanC
Superb! The finish is almost perfect. The first shot reminds me of how Steve Zaloga photographs his models. And yours is of a similar standard. Ian

JackG
Thanks Knikki, Ezio, HL-10, and Tony - much appreciated. It's been brought to my attention that I have misinterpreted the red and green colours from the b/w photo I had for reference. I have looked at tonal values, and it is odd at best. See below photo test with comparison to period photo. On top is the build as presented, with red being considered the darkest of the greys. Upon shifting to grey tones, they do not match wartime photo, but hull colours are the correct order with green first, but turret is wrong -Hungarian flag colours! Bottom shows flag colours reversed. Now grey scale matches period photo, and turret colours are correct, but hull colours are not proper, as green is suppose to be left side of Italian flag. It's a no win situation, as either approach results with one aspect being wrong. regards, Jack
Andy Moore
Depends on the film stock and any filters that may have been used for the period shot. The red could easily end up looking darker than the green. I think your OK sticking with the way you've got it since, as you say the colours are correct for the flag.
