ricardop
Hi there Can anyone recommend a decent reference book on the mosquito covering its development and combat history I should also add excellent colour profiles ( I'm sure the osprey books will be mentioned but are they any good) Thanks
Troy Smith
Offhand, no, have you looked at what Amazon had for example? http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_12?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=de+havilland+mosquito&sprefix=de+havilland%2Caps%2C241 The Modeller's datafiles are usually good for those kind of details, http://www.sampublications.com/books/modellers-datafile/the-de-havilland-mosquito/prod_470.html I thought it was OOP, this is maybe you best one stop option. Profiles. Yes, pretty, but without photos, not much use. Given the wide use of the plane, the problem will tend to be either basic coverage of a lot, or indepth of specific variants, or a something like a phonebook.. Mosquito at War has some decent large photos, the double pack reprint is cheaper though http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mosquito-Typhoon-Tempest-at-War/dp/1856482278 for about five quid post paid you get a lot of photos and some interesting personal stories. I really like the 'At War' series, of great use to the modeller as many photos well captioned. Hopefully my not that helpful answer will get some more responses, my final suggestions, put this question in the WWII section, it would get better results. Paul Bradley
The MDF has been expanded, revised and reissued: http://www.sampublications.com/books/modellers-datafile/the-de-havilland-mosquito/prod_470.html
Nigel Bunker
This is an older book but has a lot of information - 500 pages plus B+W photographs. Second hand copies are very reasonably priced. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mosquito-C-Martin-Sharp/dp/0571095313/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1422518180&sr=1-2&keywords=Mosquito+Bowyer
Paul J
I've got a copy of the FAber and Faber book. Lots to read with some tonal colour scheme diagrams. I haven't looked through it for ages but do recall it having bags of info.
