Bangor Lad
Inspired by the coverage of the centenary of the start of World War I, and having a bit of time on my hands, I thought I'd put together Airfix's Mk I Female. I made a few minor alterations based on some of the info available on line but as a 'quickie' I didn't want to spend too much time on the details. I followed the kit's painting instructions substituting Tamiya and Vallejo colours. Base coat airbrushed, the rest brush painted. The tracks, which are the weakest part of the kit having a bit of flash, prominent moulding marks and they also stretched and distorted . The tracks were weathered with some Lifecolor rust shades and some assorted pigments. The overall weathering was done with a light overspray to give a dusty base then the remaining weathering was done with various pigments and some soil from the garden, which I also used for the base. The base is a piece of 5mm MDF onto which I glued some green Oasis foam. This was then wrapped in some veneer I had left over. The ground cover is some sifted soil from the garden held in place with Woodland Scenics cement. Hope you like it and thanks for looking
