aidy
Hopefully this will be my entry for the GB. I'll be using the Hasegawa S-61A 'Shirase' kit with some mods to build a Malaysian S-61A-4 Nuri. The subject will be the only RMAF Nuri lost to enemy fire during operations against Communist Insurgents near the Thai border in 1976. Will also be using decals by decal-la, subject is second in the profile Will be posting some photos soon, need to find my camera memory card first.

aidy
Here's the kit contents and decal sheetMight nick the short tail off my HAR.5 kit and still debating how much of the interior I should do. aidy
Thanks for the support and interest, guys. Since it's already 31 January, I made a start on this build and here is some progress made in the 2 hours I had after midnight. First step would be to sort out all those cabin windows. The Nuri has eight cabin windows and luckily this kit comes with two clear sprues so I have all the parts I need. All the flashed over windows drilled out and clear parts fitted. And a view from the outside. Nothing cemented yet, though... was too sleepy to continue. More soon hopefully.

aidy
Work continues, then. The kit comes with the longer horizontal tail of the later(?) Sea Kings but the Malaysian S-61 has the shorter horizontal tail. The parts in the kit had been modified but is with my friend for recasting so I made a new tail from laminated 1.2mm styrene sheet. aidy
About 20 minutes with a piece of 120 grit wet&dry later, the airfoil shape is mostly done. Still have to scribe the details and punch some rivets, then it's on to the interior.
