Good tip for the future, kit was the heller IV, too late to save it as its in 6 or 7 parts now as I tried to dismantle it to do just that, seems half the joins were popping in and out, the other half were well and truly stuck. Plenty of time so may grap a 2nd copy.

The Heller Mirage IV has some very long seams to contend with and I'd second gluing some strips inside one half to give the seam a bit lore structure to get to grips with.

There you go, feel free to use and if I've got anything wrong (thinking direction the 'Roo is facing?) let me know and I can correct. If I've left a participating nation out, ask for it and I'll knock one up.

In case anybody isn't sure how to insert a signature, click your name at the top of the page on the forum header > from the drop down menu, click 'account settings' > on the left side of the next page is a 'signature' option. Click it > copy the link to the sig you want (above, next to each graphic) and paste into signature field. The forum software automatically embeds it.

hi,

coming late to the party,

but: any chance for Peru?

I'd say ~Spainish roundel proportions but white instead of yellow....

Hi guys,

I just wanted to say that unfortunately, I'll not be able to participate, as my move to a new home has just been postponed, to mid-october at best.

Cheers to all the Mirage builders, see you on the finish line.

Antoine, that's a shame but I quite understand.

House moving is such fun isn't it?

The only good thing is that I'll not have to mowe the lawn that often in october/november.

If you cross the pond again next summer, I'll give you the address, wine and beer are quite tasty in the surrounding.

A very good thing, I hate having to mow the lawn, and thanks for the offer.

Hello,

last evening I gave a look to my Heller Mirage 5BA thinking about a quick build but was somewhat disillusioned by the main u/c legs: they are really very very thin, to the point of doubting they will bear the finished model. Anyone have some experience of how much they will resist or can suggest replacements?

TIA

Fabio

I have built one of these and for several years taken it to many a model show, and it still is surviving very well.

Righto then the GB finishes tomorrow so there's still time for a final push to get some over the line, sadly I won't be one of them, life and studying have put the kybosh on any modelling time, I will be updating my threads with my progress but I think the best I can hope for is a bit more modelling over Christmas and thus the KUTA GB.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Due to the deaths of both my mother and my wife's mother in September (two weeks apart!) I will not be able to complete my contribution. Settling both estates has become a full-time matter.

Condolences Michael, some things are far more important than modelling.

unfortunately I won't make it for this one either, another in a run of DNF's for this year. had quite a few things going on outside modelling which distracted me. I will though finish her so updates will occur but probably not as often.

Thanks Wez for running the GB, it certainly was a popular one, well done.

The poll is now open.  It will close at midnight UK time on Sunday 19 November.

Disappointingly, only seven votes have been cast so far, the poll closes in one week so even if you didn't finish or indeed participate in the GB, you're still invited to vote.

A lot of effort has gone into these models, please show your appreciation by voting!

Regrettably, lack of time prevented me from entering the GB. Great models in the gallery. Congratulations to all participants and the hosts. I've already cast my vote.

Cheers

Jaime
