Airfix 1/48 Gloster Javelin FAW.9 3rd April Now Finished!

Recommended Posts

Evening everyone

Whilst I'm making for things to dry on my 'Stang I thought I'd make a start on my Javelin. Not much to show yet but I've made a start on the cockpit by adding some spare resin bits to represent the throttle, and other various levers...

And I've been working on the bang seats...

Still a few bits to add to finish them off but I'm pretty happy with how they look for my first effort :yahoo:

Great start mate, looking forward to this one :)

Hey Val

Cheers mate. My Mustang is very nearly finished now so hopefully over the next few days I can really get into this build. Great work on your Spits and Harrier by the way, proper job!

Good stuff, look forward to seeing the completed mustang. Thanks! I was surprised how good the Otaki spit kit is given it's age, and was glad to get the Harrier finished. Hopefully the Seafire will be finished by the end of the week; its at that stage where there's not much to do, but everything seems to take a long time!

You know it!!

You certainly don't let the grass grow etc.

Good start, the seat harnesses look great, are they AM?

Looking forward to seeing more.

Cheers

John

Hey John

The belts are from an Eduard set I had for the Canberra and bits of masking tape.

Cheers mate

Evening everyone

No pictures I'm afraid but I've given all the cockpit bits n pieces a base coat of flat black before I start on it properly tomorrow ( well that's the plan!) til then all the best.

Hey Breaker

The whole kit looks fantastic, very well moulded, great detail and well designed. How are you going to construct your cockpit? Are you going for OOB or are you gonna do a little scratch building? I'm going to add a few extras to mine just to (Hopefully) make a rather dark area a little more interesting.

Looking forward to seeing your build.

All the best

Hi everyone

First off can I just say how hard it is to photograph a cockpit that is black on black!!

I'm happy with how the cockpit has turned out. I used airscale decals for the instruments and all other details were picked out with Citadel Chain mail silver except for the hand held fire extinguisher on the rear port cockpit side wall which was painted red just to add some color (not that you can see it!). Anyway here are the pictures...

Well that's me for now....I'm off for a gin and tonic and annoy the wife!

That's a superb looking cockpit Iain. Your attention to detail is always impressive and this is no different. Great stuff!

Hope you enjoyed the G&T and your wife wasn't too annoyed with you! ;-)

Kind regards,

Stix
