Contacting AModel

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Wasn't sure where to put this thread but it does relate to a airliner kit that I'm about to start the AModel 1/144 Let L-410. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience or success contacting AModel regarding spare parts?

Many thanks

This is the kind of smart alec answer that can sometimes make online forums quite hostile. Yes I can read the side of the box both with and without my glasses. I was simply looking for advice incase anybody had been in touch with them before and what experience or tips they had. Contacting the smaller manufacturers can sometimes be tricky hence the question. I can see now this was wrong but thank you for bringing me down a peg or two.

I suppose somebody's got to fill the gap that a certain former decal manufacturer left when he got banned :innocent:

Wow, just wow...

I don't know Ken personally but I tremendously enjoy reading his threads or replies which are always very interesting and NEVER cocky.

Perhaps should you read & think twice before typing...

Let's not compound Arpie's outburst with digs about it please? If he's misunderstood Ken's post, at least give him time to realise it and apologise. We're none of us perfect, and sometimes misunderstand, or snap at people that don't deserve it. Being big enough to own up to it and say sorry is the hard part

I can appreciate your angst Arpie.

I used the side-of-box contact point in an email (to get the correct long canopy part for the Su-9U Maiden) and received a replacement part in about a week - unfortunately they sent another single-seat canopy part and, tragically, that was broken in transit as it was put in the middle of their catalogue in a Jiffy bag.

Hannants fixed the problem after discovering all their Su-9Us in stock had the incorrect canopy part and got a batch through. The part from Hannants arrived in a substantial box equipped with bubble bags. Maiden assembly to resume shortly.

If it's an incorrect part I would advise going back to the retailer first (unless it's been sitting in the stash for ages).

HTH

Tony
