Well the RAF has had a few over the last hundred years, some of which were used during the MTO as were they by the Axis forces there and in the Pacific allong with the other Allies, while outwith those theaters of war some of Hawkers products have found themselves used in the nightfighter role. Southern France, perhaps? that is a hard one! The British (FAA) used three models, Hellcat Mk. I (F6F-3), the Hellcat Mk. II (F6F-5) and the Hellcat NF Mk. II (F6F-5N) which you're interested in. FAA Hellcats saw operations in Norway, Mediterranean and Far East. However from what I can find the first of NF versions didn't enter service until Jan45, probably too late for Med service. But trickyrich hase started a new one, where there is also a possebility to build a nightfighter. I believe it is called the Specialists. I'm putting together 4 of these smaller GB's in under one main GB with the hope that the combined GB's will have a better chance of getting enough interest to go to voting and hopefully get a spot for next year.
