I will build it SOB with the decals comming from own decal stash. The scheme I want to do is a red, white, blue and Orange one. Col.
Seems the Dutch NF-5A display aircraft carried a series of cool schemes Arnold. This one will certainly brighten up the GB.

Arniec
Hi Guys, I will have a slight change of plans. I will still build the NF-5A in the bright colour scheme , but now from Kinetic. This Kinetic one should suit me as I'll be going for a SVAF one. Ok start building!
Arniec
I have done some work today, but no pictures jet. The cockpit is very simple. I am still not shure if I will put the canopie up or down. There are no seatbelts. Maybee I can put in a replacement seat. If I can find one. I have also mated the front and rear fuselage. It is not what is in the manual, but I think that the join will be much better. I only hope that everything will fit. We will see. The most anoying of the manual is that there are no colours given for the intakes etc. Luckely I still hade the CA kit on the table. RNoAF Aerobatic Team
Arnold. Remember that the wing tip fuel tanks are moulded wrong. Two of the same side.... Cheers Ørjan
Arniec
Arnold. Remember that the wing tip fuel tanks are moulded wrong. Two of the same side.... Cheers Ørjan I didn't know that. Thanxs Ørjan. Luckely I have a old resin wingtip set that was used for the testors version. Cheers,
Arniec
I have made some progress. The cockpit is painted and I have closed the fuselage now. Here are some pictures of the cockpit. Before painting. after the main colour And after detail painting. I haven't done much extra in the cockpit, because it will be closed down. And put together. And finally some pictures of the inserts on the fuselage. They didn't fit properly so I placed some plastic strip on the back so they are flush with the fuselage. CliffB
It makes sense not to do too much extra on the interior Arniec. It's the exterior that we are all looking forward to on this build Cliff
Jabba
Nice start. I have a two seater of this kit, so I will be following s the breakdown of parts will probably be similar.
Arniec
Hi Guys, I have done some more work this weekend. The Fuselage is closed and the airframe is now complete. I have no pictures yet, but hope to get some up this evening. Cheers,
trickyrich
I like the interior, looks great. That fuselage side panel looks odd? Why did they mould that separately, does it change with different versions?
Arniec
I like the interior, looks great. That fuselage side panel looks odd? Why did they mould that separately, does it change with different versions? Yes, there are two different side panels. one for a F-5A and one for the CF-5A/NF-5A. There are some more small differences, but they are all in the build manual. The only thing they forgot is to put in a different instrument panel for the NF version. That hase a map display on the left side. I replicated this with a small piece of plastic. Cheers,
Arniec
Finally I have managed to upload some new pictures. So here they come. the fuselage The wings And finally all together. The most trouble gave me the inlet on the left side. It didn't match up with the inletplate. But with some persuation I got a ok finish.. I have also put on some putty. It hase now been removed with some thinner so you don't scratch the plastic. And finally a picture of the underside. Also not a great fit, but managed to let it look ok. I also filled the two outside holes for the outside pilons. they aren't used with my model. I hope to do some more work next week. Jabba
Coming along quite well. To be honest for a modern kit the fit of some of the parts is very bad, even if, brute force and ignorance has been used, it should still fit a lot easier than this.
Arniec
Coming along quite well. To be honest for a modern kit the fit of some of the parts is very bad, even if, brute force and ignorance has been used, it should still fit a lot easier than this. Yes you are right Jabba. It isn't the easiest kit to build, but it goes quite fast. I know that there is also a Turkish model of the F-5A (Tanmodel-tigerhobbies). I haven't seen it jet, but I think I will invest in one to see how that one builds. I have build 2 Kinetic kits now and both are ehhhhmmm how do you say it politely Cr*p. The CA one I have is looking good in the box, but I have heard of some problems and you can't build out of the box a NF-5 from it. It misses the extra airinlets near the engine. Arniec
I have done some work today. Not very spectacular, but still usefull. I have cleaned up the seams and rescribed some that were lost during that. I also have put on the nose cone. There is no explanation if there is the need of some nose weight, but for safety I put some in. Now it will be mainly getting the model ready for some paint. Arniec
I have done some work on her after more than a month. Everything is now ready for some paint. I think the first paint (grey underside) will go on first. I have been doing some mixing of paint to get the right ones for this. Fingers crossed that it works. There are no pictures jet, but hope to make some this afternoon and put them in the tread. Cheers,
Arniec
And here are two pictures of the model ready for some paint. I will start painting tomorrow, so then there will be more pictures. and all the parts to be put later on after painting. As you can see in the last picture the main colours (Red,white, blue, orange and light grey) are put on the shelf.
