IDF Lebanon war 1982 tank colours

I have the Academy M60 Blazer in my next to do pile but can't decide on the correct colour for a tank that took part in the 1982 Lebanon war .I have just ordered the Mig Ammo IDF paint set which has IDF SINAY GREY '82 but looks a little dark , would some tanks still be in the IDF SAND GREY '73 at this time.

Hi Martin,

Anything is probable with IDF vehicles and that some vehicles would still sported the 1973 colour scheme after 1982 but I reckon it wouldn’t have lasted long. Currently it is common practice for IDF armoured vehicles to have spot paint re-spaying (and this could mean a complete panel) after a major exercise or operation and consequently there can be slight variation of original colour.

I have used the Lifecolor Israeli Sand Grey 82 and it looks pretty spot on to me.

Thanks David I think I will go with the IDF SINAY GREY '82 but might lightern it a little . I suspect under a good weathering it will be a good match.
