Was this expected? Seems a surprise to me! Not my type of subject but I'm sure this will please many folks in 2015 if it's on schedule.

Cheers,

Rather pleasing! I bet that has made many on here get all excited! The Wildcat with the Japanese 'Nate' in a DFD is interesting. New tool Nate from Airfix?

Look forward to the Wildcat however. But Not much else that we didn't know about though.....yet!

Oh and something called a Beaufighter to 1/72nd.

But in all seriousness, the 48th Lightning F1A is back. So a bit like I predicted a while ago with the feeling that this will be followed by a 1/72nd kit of the F.1A . It follows a pattern with 48th followed by 72nd re the Lightnings.

AV-8 A Harrier, new decals an possibly sprue with sidewinders and antenna.

And so ends one of the most emotive eras in 1:72 scale !…….I am old enough to remember the fights that (literally) broke out at the IPMS Kit Swap in the early 1980s between those trying to get their hands on one of the Frog kits that had been unearthed in some old shop stock……they could have given lessons to recent 'participants' in Tesco's Black Friday battles….and then the plethora of Russian/East European re-boxings throughout the 80/90s before Revell bit the bullet and did their own re-issue. Now, all being well, we will have a kit that WILL be worth all of the waiting without any of the fighting !.

WELL DONE Airfix !…..Another inspiring choice that just demonstrates how narrow minded other manufacturers have become with their so-called 'new' subject matter…….AND a Whitley too !.

Kate.......B5N2....odd to have a dogfight double as on fighter one bomber.......but they are doing a couple this year.

Wonder if they will cater for the AEW version or is that an aftermarket job.

Robert

As the due date on the Shackleton on Dec 2015 I think we might have to wait for Airfix 2016 to see an AEW boxing issued. I think they will have designed it for both versions and look to follow it up with a 2nd boxing.

Airfix are going to be getting a few quid from me again this year.

I think it's going to be good bet that the AEW.2 will follow at some point fairly soon. They'd be mad not to issue one as it'll be more than a little popular!

Mike. :)

So happy this year.

Shack, Whitley, Beau in 1:72 and a new 1:48 Hurricane.

Noticed as well the 1:48 Spitfire with open gun bays. I can see all sorts of possibilities in the future, the LIDAR scanning is going to make small scale detail much better. Expecting 1:48 detail at 1:72 and 1:24 detail at 1:48 soon.

The Halifax should be amazing when it comes out! ;-)
