The old thread is locked - tbh it had got TOO BIG.

So in the spirit of the King is Dead - Long Live the King! I speculate next year we'll get a 1/72nd Beaufighter...

,,,over to you.

Wez

p.s. When we've got next years list I'll change the title to Airfix 2016

Newbie here! Hello chaps! Just to throw my penn'orth into the mix, I agree deffo Beaufighter, P47....but I'm not convinced that the 'wrapped' aircraft with the tip tanks is a JP.... Wouldn't a single seat Vampire or rather Venom make sense? Tip tanks on the latter....and after all they have already done the T.11.... Just a thought....

I predict 72nd Javelin, Battle, Beau, P47, Vamp and a Tallboy/Grand Slam Lanc.. Merry Xmas all its been fun watching from the sidelines! TT

Erm, which Advent Calendar date do you think is the P-47?

Reckon a couple of post-war British Jets to go with recent Vampire/Gnat/Lightning/F-86/Harrier/Swift...as the UK Premier Manufacturer I reckon they think there is a ready market existing for more of the same, so something along the Meteor/Hunter/Javelin/Buccanear/Phantom/Seahawk/Scimitar line of things.....

Hopefully a Battle to accompany the Defiant to at last get rid of a couple of their very worst models.

Maybe re-release another couple of their old Airliners, maybe a Trident.....

If they do two or three of that lot, it is more than I will fit in next year production wise anyhow...

Crikey, pulled up already... Well I didn't say I thought any of the wrapped aircraft was a P47 actually, someone mentioned a tbolt might be a new release- the earlier thread! That said and since you asked, Dec 9th could be! TT

Not at all. Just interested.

And welcome!

regards,

Martin

Part 3???

We will all know in roughly 40 odd hours.. surely you're gonna start a 2016 thread minutes later!

Cheers.. Dave.

Since we're both in Brisbane you'll probably hear me cursing at 10pm Monday night when the Airfix site crashes under the strain.

And if it doesn't, and my new mould Buccaneer hasn't been announced, the wailing and gnashing of teeth will only be surpassed by the similar antics of the entire Beaufighter appreciation society if THAT doesn't appear.

There are still the Blenhiem Mk1 fighters and Mk IV bombers to appear from the current molds.

My LMS has Both Blenheim and the Dornier, well it did have the Dornier up until 1400 today. Oh it also did have the Re boxed by Revell MPM Wellington MkII

:ninja:

I must admit, I'll be one of hundreds (if not thousands) waiting eagerly for this announcement as well.

I almost treat this unveiling with as much excitement as Christmas day itself, as it will allow me to get caught up in some modelling theme that I've probably never thought about before - such as the Heinkel He111P after its showing at Telford...

I hope you get your Bucc, I'm hoping for a Hawker Hart family or a Single Seat Venom... to be honest - I think I'll be happy with most things.. roll on 2200 Monday...

Cheers .. Dave (by the way, it's not that humid is it - says he sitting in his a/cond work office!!)..

I've not gone through the previous thread, but given the sprue breakdown of the new 1/48th Spitfire VB, ie separate wings and 3 different types of canopy, I'd say a new 1/48 Spitfire I will be out for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

I hope they'd see fit to do the double and retool their 1/48th Hurricane to the same standard, perhaps it should be noted that kit and the existing Spitfire I/II/ was in the recent Black Friday Airfix sale....

And, yes, we do need a new decent OOB 1/48 Hurricane with no silly errors at a decent price.

A new P47 would be nice too.

As for the wrapped one with wing tip tanks, according to Airfix;

1] it should have a propeller

2] its a DFD pairing.

I would be happy with almost anything WW2 to be honest.

For me the older kits that still go together well but may not be accurate are not the biggest offenders in the Airfix range.

There are certain kits that Airfix need to replace more urgently than others in my view. Without naming names these Airfix kits are the ones that fit together badly and have a poor surface to them, by this I mean the really old ones where the fuselage and wing halves are a different size and shape, the wings don't fit the fuselage, have badly fitting and deformed transparencies, either a bland surface or a surface that looks like a warty old toad, and those kits with generally gormless features like engines moulded into cowlings and pilots moulded into cockpits.

For me the older kits that look smart and can be built straight out of the box without spending a life's work on them are not public enemy number one, even if they are inaccurate.

Well the latest teaser surely suggests a Whitley, I dont think anyone foresaw that

I would love a Whitley.

Ding Dong! as Leslie Phillips used to say. It's about time a decently priced Whitley was on the market, maybe this is an old kit from Frog or something, I won't complain if it is, but a new tool would be jackpot.

Is there a new BF109 on the way in 1/24 scale? while flicking around ebay looking to see if there were any ultra cheap 1/24 stukas or Focke Wulf 190's I came across a company called jacksons Diecast models with a listing titled

Airfix A12002A Messerschmitt Bf109E 1:24 Scale Kit Pre-Order

Or is this just an older boxing that I haven't seen before having been out of the modelling scene until this past year?

I'd be prepared to bet my entire stash that Airfix will NOT be rereleasing any old Frog Whitley in 2015. That would be utterly out of line with how they've been operating recently

Original release 1971.

I've been hoping for good 1/72 or 1/48 Hart/Demon/Hind/Hardy/Audax/Osprey variants from Airfix since just about forever, so you won't get any argument from me.

With a 300+ stash of WW1 subjects already you might think I could do without any more of those, but I do wish Airfix would update at least a couple of their older stagers to go with the anniversary years.

We WW1ophiles could really badly do with good injection kits of the RE-8 and DH-4 in 1/72 for example and a better Pup (in both Airfix scales) would keep my (currently empty) wallet begging for mercy. Hey, I have lots of nice Camel kits already, but they aren't making pounds for Hornby and new Camels from Airfix would surely have a wider distribution than most companies can manage

Shane

(edit - nah, not humid today, but Thursday at work was a b***er)
