Tin_Bitz
Hi all, Not sure this is the correct place for this but..... I have some resin landing gear doors. They have been cut from the casting block but a bit too much got removed. I have therefore got a little filling and sanding to do. How well does miliput sand on resin? Any tips? CarLos
In the case you describe (happened to me on a few occasions) I would glue a piece of plastic card, or sprue, with ciano and then file and sand to shape. If it's just a tiny bit, you can even reconstruct it with only a mix of ciano and talc.
viscount806x
Problem with using Milliput is that it doesn't bond chemically with the surface of plastic or resin. Therefore, you will split it off when trying to sand it, particularly if it is just a small area it is sticking to. As CarLos says, thick cyano with a bit of talc or even just a sprinkling of bicarb of soda on it will give you a solid structure to file and reshape and it will stick like s**t to a blanket. Tin_Bitz
It's about 1/4" long. Might try the talc an super glue. Do you think it's better that way than using milliput?
Tin_Bitz
So you think the talk and super glue bonds and files better than milliput superfine ? Slightly off on a tangent then- which do you think is the best filler to use on plastic to fill seam lines then ?
