kidcurrie42
I have just bought "Halifax, From Hell to Victory and Beyond" by K.A. Merrick, i have also seen a book titled "Halifax" by the same author, is this the same book that has been updated ect? John
Graham Boak
No, "Halifax" is a different, earlier book, which exists in two slightly different editions. The new one is a complete rework, not just an update.

Graham Boak
Enjoy. The original book was excellent (either edition), the new one even better. As always, of course, it depends upon just what you are looking for: both lack plans, colour profiles and detail drawings, but do cover the engineering development and the operational history. If you are collecting works on the Halifax, Aeroplane Magazine have a useful work in their Aeroplane Icons series, there's an example in the Warpaints series, and another in the Osprey range. Further back there is the Squadron In Action, the Profile on the Mk.III, Grainger's drawings of the early version in a series (Aerodata?), a superb French booklet on their wartime units, and a rather nice Canadian one (Simonsen?). kidcurrie42
Thanks for all that great info Graham, i intend building a few Different Mk's of the Halifax, i have one question, are there any four bladed props available and where from? Many thanks again John
Graham Boak
John Adams at Aeroclub. If you are thinking of different marks, you will have trouble with the Merlin variants without John's cowlings. Even with them, both the kits have problems. There were detail etches for the Halifax from White Ensign, but they may be difficult to get hold of until new owners hopefully appear.
T-21
Victor Bingham wrote "Halifax Second to None" Airlife 1986. Good airframe construction sectional drawings and data.
