roymattblack
Beautiful build. Ermmm..... the colours...... For some strange reason, they look awesome on the old Bugatti's. Not sure on a Rolls Royce though. Having said that, the actual car is orange and silver - so what do I know??? There was an 'urban legend' that when the Star of India was commissioned, Rolls Royce refused to paint the Saffron orange colours. - Not 'Rolls Royce'... It was delivered in polished metal all over. The Maharajah got some of his 'boys' to paint it Saffron - with paintbrushes! Rolls Royce got to hear about it, immediately collected the car, cleaned it up and painted it properly...... Legend or true??? Either way, a great tale. Love your build though. Roy. Edited November 28, 2014 by roymattblack

RRFAN
The story of Rolls Royce in India is one of my favorite RR subjects. The ever so rich Maharajas, Nawabs an Nizams tried to outdo eachother in numbers and sheer extravagance. The Star of India, one of those special Rolls Royce motorcars. Already having done this same car in the original colors I wanted to do something else. I have been given it quite a lot of thought and changed my mind several times, but in the end this color, it had to be. Maybe unusual but why not? Should have a Pocher kit for this one, now that would be something:
