Biggles81
In the immortal words "Houston we have a problem....", I just received my copy of Xtradecal X32055 FAA/RNZAF Corsairs the other and thought that they seem a little underscale. Just pulled out my scale rulers and confirmed they seem to be a perfect 1/48 scale. Also confirmed the roundels etc are a perfect size match for those on X48136 RNZAF Corsairs in 1.48 scale. mmmm... tonyot
Sounds like you`ve received the 1/48th sheet by accident?
Biggles81
Sounds like you`ve received the 1/48th sheet by accident? Nope I have received the clearly labelled X32055 FAA/RNZAF Corsairs sheet (labelled as such on both the instructions and on the sheet itself). I already had 48136 RNZAF Corsairs (no FAA subjects on the 1/48 sheet) with which to compare, something I felt I should do after seeing the 1/32 sheet and thinking the FAA markings appeared somewhat on the small size, which they are indeed by an order of magnitude. mrp
Funnily enough , I received the same sheet yesterday and thought the exact thing. The sheet is marked as 1/32 directly and in the printed instructions. Clearly there is a mistake in the production. I wonder what Hannants will do ? I already have the markings I want to use in 48 .I am thinking about sending a note to Hannants to see what they suggest.
stevehnz
Looks like somethings up, they've now disappeared off Hannants site, rather suspect a flood of complaints. Steve.
Tony C
And all credit to Hannants, as I have received the following email, sent without any input from myself... Dear Sir, We have recently supplied you with Xtradecal X32055 for the Corsair but I regret that we have just realised that the artwork has been incorrectly scaled to 1:48 and NOT 1:32. We will redo the 1:32 sheet but it will have different content depending on what can be got on our standard size decal sheet in 1:32. We should know this next week. You are welcome to return the sheet for a refund including postage. If you want to keep it, it is perfectly usable for 1:48, we will refund half the cost. Regards, David Hannant.

Yes oddly enough I finally heard back from them with the same email overnight. I had previously heard nothing from them until I started this thread.....
