leyreynolds
somewhat larger than 1/350, say 1/200 or 1/144?
Shar2
The only ones I know of are in 1:72 and there are a couple in 1:35. Injection moulded MTB's/MGB's are thin on the ground, but if you don't mind spending, then Coastal Craft do a lovely selection of resin ones, they are beautifully produced but command a premium price. leyreynolds
Thanks for the reminder. I've seen details of these kits but, being relatively new to ship modelling, am a bit daunted by their complexity and size.
Dave Fleming
Injection moulded ones, you have the Airfix MTB and the RAF Rescue launch, which can be converted to an MGB variant. I think Revell did a PT boat at one point.
Dermo245
I think Revell also did a "Vosper" MTB in 1/72 at some stage but might have accuracy issues..
longshanks
The Airfix / Revell 1/72 kits are of their time 70/80s, rather crude. The Coastal Forces 1/72 boats are multi media I.e. resin & etch plus a degree of scratch building and can be built into beautiful replicas. See my Telford pics http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234970693-telford-maritime-pics-ipms-2014/ The Italeri 1/35 kits are what you'd expect from a modern kit finely moulded and reasonably accurate and build well straight out of the box. RogerP
somewhat larger than 1/350, say 1/200 or 1/144? Hello 'leyreynolds', I'm doing Allied Coastal Forces models in 1/144th scale. So far I've built nine Fairmile B class ML's for customers here in Oz and I already . My plans are to do the 'B' as my first kit release. It will have a resin hull and some fittings with around 60-70% produced in etched brass. This will be followed by the Vosper MTB, the US 80' Elco PT Boat, the PBR Mk II, the Fairmile C class MGB, the Fairmile D class MGB and MTB and the US Higgins 78' PT Boat. Now, people need to be patient, in fact very patient, perhaps I should say extremely patient!!!!! It will happen, but it's a slow process. If you send me a 'pm' with your contact details (if you're interested of course), your email address and phone number and I'll be in touch. This goes for anyone else as well. Roger P.
