Tucano well below the weather and on a wing edge over Upton.

Going like stink!

Am I the only one who thinks this is a modern day Spitfire?

Rick.

Hiya Rick,

I know what you mean but it has always reminded me of the Mustang,....must be the straight wings?

Cheers

I think it's something about the speed and sound.

My lad saw that one Rick. He thought it was a Spitfire, but wasn't 100%. So there you are, if a 9 yr old boy thinks it then it must be true! lol

I'm with you on that Rick!

Had a great experience once driving down the straight bit of the A82, near the Bridge of Orchy, on a beautifully clear summers afternoon in my silver Escort, sunroof open. Was the only car on the road at the time and a Tucano appeared out of the valley ahead and to the left of me. To this day I swear he must have said to the back seater "let's have some fun!", the nose dipped slightly and he squared up onto the main road and flicked on the landing lights as he shot over the roof of the car going hell for leather. I contemplated veering off the road for a split second, the noise was wonderful.

Last week we had a Hercules over MJW Models HQ and another one where I live down the road. Today we had a Navy Lynx fly over this morning (any warships off the Northumbrian coast this morning?) and a while later a Tornado, low loud and fast!

thanks

Sitting in the garden and the wife was telling me how our 2 year old heard a spitfire coming before she did this afternoon, when at that moment a spitfire and hurricane flew over (I did try to get her to tell a story of 10 spitfires flying over to see if that would bring 10 spits and hurricanes over!!) Just now the Spit and Hurricane flew over again heading in the Duxford direction (the same direction as they were heading earlier)

We had a church / village fete yesterday afternoon just south of Malmesbury near Lyneham and the pleasure of the Vulcan accompanied by a Strikemaster flying south. As they reached our village the Strikemaster peeled off East.....WONDERFUL

A Typhoon (at least i think it is, it's very cloudy here) has been doing a circuit over Malvern for the past 30 minutes. It screams over my house, then backs off again. Awesome soundtrack for a Thursday afternoon.

T'was back this evening too.

Couldn't see it, but you certainly could hear it!

Had an unusual visitor into Glasgow this afternoon, a Shorts Skyvan of Canadian charter company Summit Air, looked immaculate as it taxied past the hangar.

Never seen a Skyvan before and never heard of Summit Air either! Don't know where it's off too but a pleasant surprise.

I managed to catch a glimpse of it tonight between the clouds. Pretty much all afternoon it was going on, i was supposed to be gardening but it kept distracting me...

Both day and night, I've seen the following flying over my house for the past few weeks.

S70A-9 Blackhawk

EC-665 Tiger

C-17A Globemaster III

KC-30A MRTT

CL-604 Challenger

737 BBJ

KA350 King Air

E7-A Wedgetail

Hawk 127

Since I have just recently moved quite close to an RAAF base, I expect I'll see plenty more.

Cheers,

Daniel.

Forward Air Control exercise at Eastnor Castle was probably the reason for the Typhoon. They've moved on to Hay on Wye today.
